My very good friend Kelso Gillenwater commissioned a “beacon” for this impressive new building housing Tacoma’s main newspaper. For KELSO'S BEACON-renamed in Kelso’s memory-my first tiered chandelier can be seen from three hundred feet away and does serve, as he wanted it to, as a beacon.
